“Croix Violettes” is gewoonweg een topterroir, maar gelegen in Brochon, wordt de wijn verkocht als Côte de Nuits Villages. Een goede zaak voor de liefhebber, want deze behoort elk jaar tot de beste uit de kelder, een wijn die absoluut niet misstaat tussen vele premier en zelfs Grand Cru's en de 2013 is superbe!

Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Côtes de Nuits Villages les Croix Violettes comes from vines planted in 1937 and 1946 cropped between 25 to 30 hectoliters per hectare due to a lot of millerandage. It has a very well-defined bouquet with blackberry and raspberry fruit, but that mineralité really comes through. The palate is medium-bodied with a sense of symmetry: very tense, almost spicy on the finish, a wine that is full of nascent energy. Is this the best Côtes de Nuits Villages? Quite probably." 90-92/100
